Winter is a great time to keep your children active, healthy and building on their swimming skills.
We find that swimmers who drop out of swimming lessons during winter often have difficulty picking up where they left off. By swimming all year round children remain confident in the water, and remember, regular exercise helps to keep the body healthy and fight off winter illnesses. Our indoor pool with consistent warm temperatures of 32/33 degrees, make lessons comfortable all year round.
We also offer hot showers to rinse off in and heaters to get dressed under after your lessons.
Bundle everyone into warm dry PJ’s or a track suit.
Don’t forget head and feet – throw on a beanie or hat, and some ugg boots. It's no different than having a warm bath at home. -

A reusable waterproof nappy is required for all non toilet trained children. Please note that Happy Nappy is the preferred option for reusable water nappies as they give the best protection.
Caps and goggles are optional in Level 1 and highly advisable for Level 2 and above, caps are great for keeping long hair out of faces, meaning less distraction to their lesson meaning they have a better chance at improving their skills quicker.
We will supply all equipment needed for the lesson.
Bring along a change of clothes for after your lesson, we have rinse off showers for after your lesson.

Ready 2 Swim follows a “No Nappy, No Swim” policy for all children 3 & under.
Only recognised reusable waterproof nappies are to be worn in the water for infants, with Happy Nappies being the preferred nappy.
For hygiene reasons, all children who typically wear nappies must use an approved reusable swim nappy (e.g. Happy Nappy) during lessons. This is essential to prevent pool closures due to any faecal incidents.
Swim nappies must not be removed on the pool deck for both hygiene and child protection purposes.
Teachers will check that swim nappies are properly worn before each class begins.
Children not wearing the appropriate swim nappies will not be permitted to participate in their lesson.
Our staff will assist in refitting swim nappies before each purchase to ensure the correct size is provided.
In the event of a faecal incident where the child is not wearing the correct swim nappy, a cleaning and sanitisation fee will be applied to cover the costs of necessary pool sanitisation and any related downtime.
-
Swimming caps are highly advisable to all children participating in level 2 & above. Caps are great for keeping long hair out of faces and they also assist in hygiene allowing us to keep our pool clean and tidy.

Absolutley! We encourage parents to watch their children progress each week.
We ask that parents do not interrupt the lesson.
If your child is anxious about their lesson, we ask you to be patient and let us work with your child, it can take time to develop a trusting bond between instructor and student. If your child is unsettled we may ask you to move downstairs to our reception area out of their sight and watch the lesson from our TV viewing screen to allow them to develop a trusting bond with their instructor.
-
It is unrealistic to say that children never cry during swimming lessons. Whether your child is nervous about their first lesson or has had a bad experience in the water before, we will be patient and empathetic to their feelings. It's never easy to see your child upset, however, there’s nothing we haven’t seen or experienced when it comes to children in the pool.
There are some things that you can do to prevent children crying at swim lessons:
Mentally prepare your child for the swimming experience. When you sign up for lessons tell your child that they will be participating in swimming lessons. Let them know that they will be at lessons once a week for 30 minutes, and that they will learn how to go underwater like they do in the bathtub or shower, and will practice moving through the water safely.
Visit the pool before swim lessons. Come down and say hi to our instructors, check out our surroundings and what we have to offer. The children may get excited about coming for their first lesson.
-
We always do our best to have the same instructors every week however sometimes our instructors may get sick or want to take a holiday. In the case of your instructor being absent there will be a replacement instructor. All of our staff follow the same program at Ready 2 Swim, we also have staff training sessions regularly to make sure the lessons are all being taught the same, so you can rest easy knowing that your child will still be learning the same things they would with their regular instructor.
-
Yes! We only close on public holidays and we have a short break over Christmas time. Learning to swim is a long term, ongoing process, and consistency is the key to the development and maintenance of swimming skills. Attending swimming lessons makes up an important part of a child’s weekly routine. Skills taught in lessons need to be practised all year round to allow children to develop.
-
No, floaties give a false sense of confidence in the water. Plus, they make your child swim upright, which is a drowning position. Instead, children need to learn to swim parallel to the water. Learning to swim without floaties gives the child the chance to learn how to swim correctly.
-
Unfortunately, no. We like to give the children the chance to develop a bond with their instructor without the distraction of parents in the water.
